Reading

Sometimes after my afternoon nap, I like to sit in my bed and read for awhile.

C'mon, Mom, leave me alone. I'm trying to read. Enough with the pictures.

I mean it. I will hide!

This is much better.

Basketball and Cookies

This weekend Grammy and Papa came to visit me. I went to my first basketball game with Daddy and Papa. We had a great time! I am a little distracted in this picture because I was looking for the large eagle who was wandering around.

The other highlight of my weekend was making train (and track) cookies. I couldn't quite figure out how to connect the train cars together but the cookies were delicious.

I like cake

This weekend Daddy and I made cake.

I took my job very seriously.

It was yummy.

Incognito

Today we took our monthly trip the the ICA or, as I like to call it, the Spider Museum (see my 10/27/07 post for explanation). We made masks today:

You can't see me.

My nurturing side

I am adjusting well to my big brother role. Yesterday I put Yertle the Turtle in the baby bjorn so I could carry him around. Then I told Mommy and Daddy "I got to burp him".

See, I get it.

Being Ben

This weekend Daddy took me outside to play in the snow. I decided I preferred to play in the slush and puddles. I got my clothes pretty wet and Daddy said I had to leave them on the porch to dry. That's why I met Mommy at the door dressed like this:

My parents will be keeping this picture to show to all my friends when I am older.

Mommy got my old play gym out of the attic for Baby Sam. He wasn't too impressed so I reclaimed it. I thought it made a pretty good cave. I have been taking my meals in here for two days now.

Go Pats!

Today I am teaching Sam about football. The most important things to remember are:
1. Wear your jersey on game day
2. Clap when everyone else claps
3. Make up a touchdown dance
4. Let Mommy take at least one good picture of any of the above

(By the way, you can see more pictures on Sam's Blog)

Indoor snow

It has been very cold outside for the past few days. Since I haven't had a chance to go out and play in the snow, I decided to improvise.

I'm a big brother!

We have a new baby at our house! He's my brother. His name is Sam. I am very happy that he is home. I like looking at his little fingers and imitating the funny squeaking noises he makes.

Merry Christmas!

Eating breakfast with Daddy and Uncle Andy

I had Curious George stamps in my stocking. I tried them out on my hands and then on everyone else's hands.

Daddy is trying to show me my new shirt

That's great, but I know there are toys around here somewhere

Mommy needs my help

A long video of me opening and playing with my new trains!

Reading the instructions

Playing, playing, playing

I made a pretty good haul this year, it was quite overwhelming!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Ben!

Let it Snow!

These pictures were intended to show how much snow we've had recently. Daddy was trying to get me to look at the camera but I was too busy kicking the snow.

Wow, this is pretty deep!

Little Drummer Boy

I named my singing puppy "Auggie Doggie".
I wrote a song about him. It is called "Auggie Doggie".
Here is a video of me using a diaper pail as a drum and singing my new song. Sorry, the lighting isn't so great, it was an impromptu concert. I am also using this opportunity to display my talent for physical comedy.

Deck the Halls

My grandparents bought me this apparently possessed toy puppy that wears a Christmas hat and sings "Deck the Halls". Clearly, their objective in making this purchase was twofold: to amuse me and to drive my parents insane.

I like to play hide and seek

I am really good at it.

Hot Chocolate Parade

Tonight I went to the Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony downtown. I enjoyed the marching bands, "Lowla" the polar bear and the float that carried Elmo and Cookie Monster.
Best of all, I was introduced to the wonderful world of hot chocolate. (Don't worry, it had considerably cooled by the time my parents let me try some.) I decided to call it "coffee". I always see Uncle Andy drinking out of these little white cups. I know that his entire diet consists of coffee so I thought that must be what was in my cup as well.
That is good stuff!

We've got to be clean

When I wash my hands in the bathroom sink, I use a step stool so I can reach the water.

Since I am concerned about my toys' hygiene as well, I made them a little step stool out of a ramekin.

Happy BDay, GGpa

Last weekend, my GGpa turned 80 and we took a trip to Connecticut to attend the big celebration! I had fun running around the room and asking everyone to chase me. I know you may find that shocking since I am normally such a subdued little boy.

Even though it wasn't my birthday, everybody knows that it's REALLY all about me. That's why I got presents too.

And there was cake. I was happy.
