Leaving on a jet plane

Last weekend we took a trip to Atlanta. I was very excited about the plane ride.
Here I am studying up on the safety guidelines.

Unfortunately, I did not get to fly the plane myself but I did get to visit the flight deck.

I decided to chill in my seat with a book and some tunes instead.

I had a lot of fun hanging out at Grammy and Papa's house. We played with blocks, watched movies and made apple pie!

More apples

Since a growing boy can never have too many apples, I went back for more! This time Leah and Zachary came too.

Here we are on the hay ride

Apples

On Saturday we took advantage of the sort of warm/sort of fall-like weather and headed to Parlee Farm for some apple picking. I am quite the expert on apples so I picked a really good one as a sample.

We filled up our bag and then visited the goats and played on the haystacks. We even brought home some apple cider and donuts. Yum.

The rest of my summer...

At the beach, I pretended to be a sea turtle. I laid some eggs on the beach and buried them in the sand to keep them safe.

I flew my kite.

I washed Daddy's car.

My friends and I found a caterpillar at the playground. It was fascinating.

I rode on the motorcycle with Alex.

I took a trip to the ICA with Uncle Andy.

I played catch in my backyard. I haven't figured out if I'm supposed to throw the ball or the glove.

I enjoyed some dinosaur cupcakes at Zachary's birthday party.

Garden Helper

I like to help Mommy work in the garden. It is my job to pick the cucumbers and tomatoes. I've been very on top of the cucumber situation and have picked a lot.
This year our tomatoes have been a little pathetic. (Mommy forgot the cow manure, even though I reminded her. She has learned her lesson). Mommy told me I can't pick the tomatoes until they grow and turn red.

I've been doing a lot of waiting.

Rainy Day Bugs

Last weekend I went to see the "Big Bugs", a collection of 13 giant insect sculptures, at the Garden in the Woods with my friend Nora and our mommies. In honor of the exhibit, I wore my bee hat and Nora wore her ladybug raincoat.
It's a good thing I had a hat because we got caught in a downpour in the middle of the trail! Still we persevered and managed to see all the Big Bugs.

Here I am in front of the giant butterfly. I thought it was beautiful.

The ants were our favorite.

The bee was pretty cool too.

I think we might go back and see the Big Bugs again when it's not quite so rainy.

Kites and cold feet

Last weekend Grammy and Papa came to visit me. I took them to my favorite beach to play. I got to fly my kite because it was really windy and I thought that was pretty fun.

Sammy tried too but he didn't get it as high.

Then I introduced Papa to the chilly New England water along with my favorite phrase "Again!"

Zoo

I took a special trip to the Roger Williams Zoo to celebrate my birthday this weekend. We are dragging out the birthday celebration as long as possible this year. My friends Alex, Zach, Max and all of their mommies, daddies and little brothers (where applicable) came along with me. We had a great time running around and looking at all the animals.

Down the Cape

I just got home from an awesome week on Cape Cod. I had a blast and I can't wait to go back next year.

Wow, this car is pretty full. How long are we going to be gone?

I spent a lot of time collecting rocks on the beach. My favorite ones are the white ones that look like snowballs.

I built my first sandcastle with some help from Daddy.

This wagon is pretty heavy. A little help, maybe?

Daddy and I searched for hermit crabs on the beach. I caught six. I named them Alex, Zachy, Leah, PJ, Max and Ben. Then I saw a really big crab and decided his name was Mr. Dave. Mr. Dave buried himself in the sand before we could get him.

More beach fun.

I really liked the outdoor shower at the Cape house. It was the best part of the end of the day.

Lighthouses are my new obsession. I got to go up inside this red and white one. See the window at the top? I waved to Mommy from that window as she tried not to faint. The white lighthouse was closed so we could only see it from the outside.

Enjoying my fish 'n' chips at the Lobster Shanty. I also tried some mussels here and thought they were really good.

The Chatham Railroad Museum is the coolest place on the Cape. They have a renovated caboose out in back that I could play in. I could have spent the whole day here if given the opportunity. Mommy and Daddy lured me away with the promise of more lighthouses.

This windmill was on the little town common. I got to go inside the windmill and climb up to the top (do you see a theme developing?) It was really cool to be up so high. Afterwards, I ran around because that is what I do.

My pensive wind-swept look.
