Touch a Truck

My school held a "Touch A Truck" event last weekend. Sammy and I had fun climbing in and out of all the vehicles. It was pretty awesome.

Ben's Quote of the Day

Me: "Let's play a game where the kids are sleeping and the parents leave Christmas presents because y'know Santa is pretend".
Mommy: "How do you know Santa is pretend?"
Me: "Oh, I know everything in the galaxy. Except reading and driving."

Safety never sleeps

I am very interested in fire safety since some fire fighters came to talk at my school. When I came home from school, I demonstrated for Mommy how to stop, drop and roll and then I noted the locations of all of our smoke detectors.

If you ask me, I will tell you that I know all the firemen in town. There's Fireman Dave and um, there's, um, Fireman Something Else.

I kept Daddy up past my bed time to draw a picture of the house so I could make a Fire Safety Plan.

I drew a couple of escape routes from my room.

I know I will sleep better at night knowing we have a plan.

Ben's Quote of the Day

Me: There is just one bad thing at school. There's a red chair.
Mommy: Oh, is it like a time-out chair?
Me: Yes, you have to sit there if you're French.
Mommy: French? Do you mean "fresh"? Fresh means rude.
Me: Yeah, you sit there if you're rude.
Mommy: Have you had to sit in the red chair?
Me: No, because I am not French.

Soccer!

Hey, somebody get that little brother off the field.

You'll noticed I chose number 54. A silent Bruschi tribute? Perhaps.

It's back to school time!

My new school is fun so far. I like my teachers and my friends and the toys in my classroom. I also like to play duck duck goose in gym class. I am on the fence about my music class. I think my music teacher is funny and I like playing instruments but I am not so sure about singing. In my opinion, there are too many songs.

Rainy Spinners Game!

We're soaking wet, but we're still having fun!

Tell me again why we're still here? A baseball game? What?

Overheard Bedtime Conversation

Ben: "Sammy, these are your choices, you can watch Diego one time, you can be a good boy"
Sam: "I am a good boy!"
Ben: "or you can help Mommy. So what is your choice?"
Sam: "Um, Diego!"
Ben: "Okay, but just once, remember? ... Once."

Ben's Quote(s) of the Day

Ben: Mommy, someday I want a race car that comes with a charfy.
Mommy: What is a charfy?
Ben: It's something golden.
Mommy: You mean trophy?
Ben: No, a trophy is something you get at the end of a battle, it's a gold medal for a battle hamster.

And later...
Ben: How did you know where my sandals were?
Mommy: Because I am wicked smart.
Ben: You’re not that wicked smart, you don’t know what a slimebender is.

Spinners VIP

Daddy and I went to a special event at LeLacheur Park with my friend Emily and her dad. We got to meet a bunch of the Spinners players and they all signed my new hat!

Me and Emily...

There was a Star Wars sign. How awesome is that?

Hmmm....are any of these guys famous? I really couldn't tell ya. Maybe someday.

It's my party...

The crazy hot weather is gone, but the torrential downpours made my outdoor party at Great Brook Farm a little, um, interesting. Nevertheless, I was psyched to see my school friends and my friends from babyhood all in one place. We moved our little shindig indoors to the ice cream shop, ran around and watched the cows.

It was all good.

(Mental note to the party planning committee: No more outdoor birthday parties. Even in July.)

Mr. Five-Year-Old!

I am FIVE!

Mommy made me a LEGO cake.

I was very excited with all the cool stuff that I got from my friends and family.

The weather was ridiculously hot for my birthday this year so I chose to spend the day inside, with the AC on, playing with my new legos!

After all the LEGO-ing, I headed out for a special birthday dinner with Max (my best friend in the galaxy) and then back home for birthday cake. Best.Day.Ever.

(Again, my blog editor apologizes for the lack of a touching picture montage and blames the lifeless computer that holds the majority of the pictures. It will be up eventually!)

Run, Ben, Run!

My friend Alex and I ran our first (2 mile!) road race with our parents and our little brothers (in strollers).

Here we are before the race. We were very excited.

Running, running, running...

Mommy and me at the finish line...

After the race we relaxed and settled in for the very long parade!

The Graduate

After much dedication and hard work, I graduated from pre-k. My parents, brother and grandparents were in attendance and I was very proud.

These are my awesome teachers Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Sullivan. I am going to miss them as I move on to bigger and better things!

(My mom did take movies of some of the songs we sang at our Graduation program. Unfortunately, these are stuck on her laptop which is more of a "former computer" at the moment. We will work on recovering those so that everyone can see them!)
