Just Chillaxing

Sometimes I like to relax and peruse my lego magazine in bed in the mornings.

It's a nice way to get ready for my busy day.

I draw all day long. And when I am done drawing, I draw some more.

Sometimes Mommys just don't get it

Me (on the way to the grocery store after school): "Where are we going?"
Mommy: "To the grocery store."
Me: "Why?"
Mommy: "To buy groceries."
Me: (big sigh) "Mommy, I need you to do these things BEFORE you pick me up"

Zoolights

We took a special trip to the Stone Zoo this week. We have been there several times before and I was surprised to find out that 1. They are open at night and 2. They are open when it's cold outside. Who knew! My friend Alex and his family came with us.

Some of the animals are staying somewhere else for the winter but a few of them, including the reindeer, were still there. The Zoo was decorated with lots of pretty lights. It was very cool.

We looked for the river otters in their tank but they were hiding. The river otters don't mind the cold. It made me wonder if any live in the Merrimack River near my house. Hmmmm. We posed for pictures in front of their tank. As you can see, Alex and I were having a "funniest 5 year old" competition.

I think it was a tie.

Counting down the days with Legos!

Now that we are home from our Thanksgiving adventure, it is time to get ready for Christmas!

I am SO excited about Christmas this year. I was a huge help decorating the house. My favorite decoration is my new lego advent calendar. Every day I open a little door and get legos! Best thing ever.

Okay, then

I had an interesting story to share with my family today:

God came to my school today (at recess, naturally) and explained to me that broccoli comes from trees.
Fun fact - God wears a green shirt with clementines on it.

Thanksgiving in Florida

We took a trip to Florida to visit our family for Thanksgiving. I had such a great time. It was funny to leave home where it was cold and go somewhere warm. We played on the beach and loved jumping in the waves. We were some of the only people in the water because it seemed warm to us!

I went fishing for the first time with Daddy and my Great-Uncle Wes. I caught a little fish but it was too small to keep so we threw it back. Now I have my own fishing pole and I will try it again sometime at home when it gets a little warmer.
We spent Thanksgiving at my Great-Grandma's. I checked out her TV as soon as we got there (Sam was already sleepy!)

I had fun playing with my cousin Nevaeh. We played games, made crafts and then had a team costume contest and amazingly, we won!

Before we left, I made a giant sand castle. I can't wait to go back again.

Making a list...

Mommy asked me what I would like to put on my Christmas list this year. At first, I thought she meant what I should get for the other people in my family and I made some good suggestions.
Since I earn money with my chore chart, I have a few special toys that I have been thinking about.
Mommy helped me write my own list... "Battle Hamster, Starfighter and Dragonoid Colossus".

Bowling is fun

I tried bowling for the first time and I had a great time! Not only was the game fun but I also got to see a bunch of my babyhood friends I had not seen in a long time.

Max and Sam and I took turns rolling (and sometimes throwing, in Sam's case) the ball. We weren't into keeping score so much. Details just makes these things confusing.

Concentrate...

Woohoo!

Touch a Truck

My school held a "Touch A Truck" event last weekend. Sammy and I had fun climbing in and out of all the vehicles. It was pretty awesome.

Ben's Quote of the Day

Me: "Let's play a game where the kids are sleeping and the parents leave Christmas presents because y'know Santa is pretend".
Mommy: "How do you know Santa is pretend?"
Me: "Oh, I know everything in the galaxy. Except reading and driving."

Safety never sleeps

I am very interested in fire safety since some fire fighters came to talk at my school. When I came home from school, I demonstrated for Mommy how to stop, drop and roll and then I noted the locations of all of our smoke detectors.

If you ask me, I will tell you that I know all the firemen in town. There's Fireman Dave and um, there's, um, Fireman Something Else.

I kept Daddy up past my bed time to draw a picture of the house so I could make a Fire Safety Plan.

I drew a couple of escape routes from my room.

I know I will sleep better at night knowing we have a plan.

Ben's Quote of the Day

"Mommy, someday I will teach you how to pee standing up."

Ben's Quote of the Day

Me: There is just one bad thing at school. There's a red chair.
Mommy: Oh, is it like a time-out chair?
Me: Yes, you have to sit there if you're French.
Mommy: French? Do you mean "fresh"? Fresh means rude.
Me: Yeah, you sit there if you're rude.
Mommy: Have you had to sit in the red chair?
Me: No, because I am not French.

Soccer!

Hey, somebody get that little brother off the field.

You'll noticed I chose number 54. A silent Bruschi tribute? Perhaps.

It's back to school time!

My new school is fun so far. I like my teachers and my friends and the toys in my classroom. I also like to play duck duck goose in gym class. I am on the fence about my music class. I think my music teacher is funny and I like playing instruments but I am not so sure about singing. In my opinion, there are too many songs.

Rainy Spinners Game!

We're soaking wet, but we're still having fun!

Tell me again why we're still here? A baseball game? What?
